Privacy Policy

The short version

ClearWeek turns school newsletters into calendar events. We collect as little as possible, we never log into your email, and we delete raw newsletters after 7 days. Nothing here is sold or shared for advertising, ever.

If you only use newsletter scanning

Newsletters you paste or upload are processed in memory to find events and are not stored on our servers. There is no account. Anything the app saves for you (child names, saved events, your Plus unlock) lives in your own browser and can be erased anytime in Settings.

If you use Automatic forwarding

To make the automatic version work, we store:

• Your email address (that is your account; there is no password).
• The events we extract, until you delete them or your account.
• The raw forwarded newsletter, for 7 days only, so we can debug a failed scan. After 7 days it is deleted automatically.
• A log of what we processed and the notification emails we sent you.

ClearWeek never logs into your inbox and cannot see any email you don't forward. You (or a rule you create in your own email) choose exactly what gets sent to your private ClearWeek address.

Who else touches the data

• Google (Gemini AI) reads newsletter content to find the events. We use Google's paid tier, which means your content is not used to train their AI.
• Postmark receives forwarded emails and sends our emails to you (sign-in links and event digests). Their own systems retain processed email for a limited period.
• Neon hosts our database and Vercel hosts the app.

About children

ClearWeek is for parents and does not collect information from children. Child names you add for color tagging stay in your browser only and are never sent to our servers.

Deleting everything

On-device data: Settings, then "Erase all ClearWeek data on this device". Account data: email hello@lanternorchard.com and everything (account, events, logs) is deleted. A self-serve delete button is planned.
